Well, we did it! We saw history and now our trek back home has begun. I must first say that I am still floating on a cloud that we got to see the President standing right in front of us. However, I must also tell you that I am physically and emotionally exhausted after standing out in the frigid weather for 12 hours holding a 2 year old. My body feels sluggish and my biceps feel as if I have been lifting weights on them.
The excitement in DC is still evident as we leave and I had hoped to have the energy to venture back into city to do collect some Obama memorabalia but unfortunately the exhaustion would not allow me to move! So, the best part is that our return flight is a direct one and I am hoping that the girls sleep for the 3 hours so I too can sleep. This definitely was a trip of a lifetime for us to be here and witness history. I am sure that we will return sometime within the next 4 years to visit Washington and request a tour of the White House. Until then, I will just continue to be on my "Obama high" as his administration works to remake America!
