CORAL GABLES HOSTS PLAY DAY

Let’s go outside and play! The City of Coral Gables wants children to head outdoors and participate in the City’s first ever Play Day. On Saturday, November 21st, the Parks and Recreation Department and the Youth Advisory Board will host a day of fun at the Coral Gables War Memorial Youth Center, 405 University Drive.
From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., children can participate in a variety of games for all ages. The following is a list of activities.

Ages 1-3
Duck, Duck, Goose
Simon Says
Red Rover

Ages 4-5
Hot Potato
Red Light, Green Light

Ages 6-9
Jump Rope Contest
Hula Hoop Contest
Obstacle Course Relay Race

Ages 10-up
Relay Race
Knock Out
Foosketball

The day’s activities also include a bounce house and water balloon toss for prizes. If you cannot make it to the Youth Center, the City still encourages you to head outdoors and enjoy any of its beautiful parks and open spaces.

Coral Gables was recently named a Playful City USA community by KaBOOM!, a national non-profit dedicated to bringing play back into children's lives. The City’s first Play Day helps implement that concept by providing healthy play opportunities for its youngest residents.
